Carrying Case for Meta Quest 3/3S

Overview

The Carrying Case for Meta Quest 3/3S is Meta's full-size travel case for both the Meta Quest 3 and the Meta Quest 3S. It costs $69.99. Meta took pre-orders for it with Quest 3S on September 25, 2024, and it shipped with the headset on October 15, 2024. The product page also calls it the Meta Quest Carrying Case. It holds the headset, two Touch Plus controllers, a head strap, the charging cable and the power adapter.

Design and specs

The case measures 328 x 242 x 128 mm and weighs 670 g. The outer shell is recycled felt in Light Gray, the inside is Slate Black, and Meta lists TPU, ABS and microfiber as the other materials. Contoured plastic compartments inside hold each item in place. It closes with a zip that Meta describes as an improved, snag-free design, and it has a soft hand strap. The box contains the case and a safety and warranty guide. To clean it, Meta says to wipe it gently with a damp, clean cloth.

Compatibility

Meta lists Quest 3 and Quest 3S. Besides the headset, the case fits one head strap (the standard strap, the Elite Strap or the Elite Strap with Battery), two Touch Plus controllers with lanyards or Active Straps, one charging cable and one power adapter. It also fits headsets fitted with the Quest 3 Open Facial Interface, the Quest 3S Breathable Facial Interface or the standard facial interfaces. Meta says it does not fit the Meta Quest 2, the Meta Quest Pro or Touch Pro controllers.

How it differs from the other Meta cases

Meta also sells the older Meta Quest 3 Carrying Case, which launched with Quest 3 in October 2023 at the same $69.99. From the outside the two look alike: Meta lists the same 328 x 242 x 128 mm size, the same Light Gray felt and Slate Black interior, and a snag-free zip on both, with the older case at 674 g. The practical difference is headset support: Meta says Quest 3S does not fit in the Quest 3 case, while this case is designed for both Quest 3 and Quest 3S. The cheaper Compact Carrying Case for Meta Quest 3/3S costs $49.99 and weighs 456 g, but it only takes soft head straps, not Elite Straps.

Who it is for

This case suits Quest 3 or Quest 3S owners who travel with the headset and want everything, including an Elite Strap, in one shell. If you only use the soft strap that comes in the box and want a smaller bag, the Compact Carrying Case is the lighter choice. Quest 2 and Quest Pro owners need a different case.
