Overview
The Meta Quest 2 Carrying Case is Meta's official travel case for the Meta Quest 2. Oculus announced it with the headset in September 2020 at $49, and at launch it was also sold in a $129 bundle with the Elite Strap with Battery. The price rose to about $60 in August 2022, fell to $44.99 in January 2024, and was cut to $19.99 in April 2024. $19.99 is the US Meta Store price today.
Design and specs
The case has a rounded, pill-shaped shell with a felt outer finish, a dual zipper and a soft hand strap. Inside, contoured, padded foam holds everything in place without straps or harnesses. Meta lists the case at 211 x 127 x 346 mm and 500 g.
Compatibility
Meta lists the case as compatible with the Meta Quest 2 only. The foam is shaped to fit the headset with the standard strap or with either Elite strap (the Meta Quest 2 Elite Strap or the Meta Quest 2 Elite Strap with Battery), plus two Touch controllers, the charging cable and the power adapter. It is not made for the Meta Quest 3 or the Meta Quest 3S. Meta sells the Meta Quest 3 Carrying Case for those headsets.
Setup and use
The headset sits in the main cut-out with its strap attached, and the controllers, cable and charger fit in their own spaces. The dual zipper makes it easy to get at your gear. The case protects against bumps and scratches when you carry the headset in a bag or take it to a friend's house. Meta does not claim any water resistance.
Who it is for
The case suits Quest 2 owners who travel with the headset or want a tidy place to store it and its accessories. Meta stopped selling the Quest 2 headset in early 2025, so the case is mainly for existing owners. If you also own a Quest 3 or Quest 3S, you need the newer case for those headsets.
