Squid Smack is a free multiplayer Quest game where you swim as a squid, inking, smacking and hiding from other players around an aquarium and a shipwreck.
Squid Smack is a free, lighthearted multiplayer adventure from Immersive Edge in which you play a squid exploring underwater with other players. It was released on the Meta Horizon Store on May 10, 2022.
How it plays
You swim by moving your arms, then ink, smack and hide as you find your way around the main aquarium or head out to a shipwreck. Strong currents push you around, other squids may decide to smack you, and you also have to avoid getting eaten.
The game is made by two people, a husband and wife team, who released it early so the community could help shape new features. They say more features, maps and treasures will keep arriving, and invite players to join their Discord. Music and sound effects come from Zapsplat.
Multiplayer
Squid Smack is multiplayer only; the store lists no single-user mode, and an internet connection is required. Other players are both your company and your biggest threat, since any of them can smack you while you explore.
Comfort
It is played standing or in room-scale with controllers. Swimming uses your arms, so expect some physical movement and give yourself room to reach out.
