Gladius

Gladius is a sword-fighting action and adventure game from VirtualAge, set in ancient Rome. You play a gladiator who chooses weapons, trains against different opponents and fights in large battles against strong warriors, with your freedom as the prize for winning over the crowd. It is listed on the Meta Horizon Store as an early access game.

How it plays

The game is split into four sections:

• The Games: survive seven days in the Colosseum against tough opponents, across themed stages such as an Egyptian temple, a naval battle and a maze.
• Arena: five leaderboard challenges covering endless, weapon master, bridge defense, market and chariots.
• Training: a fully custom mode where you pick the weapons, enemies and length of the fight, and battle alone or alongside NPC allies.
• Community mods: player-made content, from beach ball guns and giant spoons to rebuilt pyramids and forge arenas.

The Games is the main path, while Arena and Training let you replay fights on your own terms.

Comfort

Gladius supports sitting, standing and room-scale play with controllers. Melee fights involve a lot of swinging, so give yourself enough room to move your arms freely.
