Swordsman is a melee combat action game from Sinn Studio Inc.. You cross blades with knights, Vikings, Mongols, samurai and pirates in a campaign to stop the Jötunn from conquering the world. It launched on the Meta Horizon Store on August 31, 2023.
How it plays
The story sets up a clear villain. The Jötunn has gathered captains from around the globe and armed them with godlike weapons so they can lead mighty armies, while he himself commands a seemingly endless power called Hellfire.
Fights use realistic armor physics, so where you hit matters. Along the way you face big boss battles, claim powerful boss weapons and even take on a Kraken. Between fights, an RPG system lets you shape your character:
- A Blacksmith, an Armorer and a Skill Master help you build around your playstyle.
- Lots of items to buy and unlock.
- Character progression and customization.
Gameplay modifiers change the rules for extra variety. Examples from the store page include tougher enemies, invisible foes that appear as floating swords, a super-strength mode called Doomfist, and the ability to slow time whenever you like.
Comfort
Meta has not published a comfort rating for Swordsman. It supports sitting, standing and room-scale play with controllers. If you have a sensitive stomach, check the comfort settings before your first battle.
