Overview

The Syntech XR Headset Backpack is a travel backpack that carries a Meta Quest headset and a laptop together. Syntech announced it in June 2025 as part of four Made for Meta accessories, alongside the Syntech MR Walnut Stand and two head straps. The Meta store sells it for $99.99. Syntech's own US store lists it at a $159 sale price, with a regular price of $229.

Design and specs

Meta lists the backpack at 325 x 235 x 450 mm and 1,865 g, in black and charcoal polyester and PU. Syntech gives a capacity of 20 litres in two layers. The upper section holds the headset, charging cables and a power bank, and the lower section holds daily items. There are three main sections with their own zippers, and Syntech counts 17 hidden pockets. The main section has a velvet lining, and the headset compartment has a removable strap that holds the head strap in place. Syntech says to remove that strap for headsets with a hard strap. Thick pearl cotton padding absorbs knocks. Meta says the composite fabric and reinforced zippers withstand rain. The laptop section takes machines up to 16 inches, according to Syntech's launch release. The back panel is breathable, and a rear strap slides over a suitcase handle. The box contains the backpack and a user manual.

Compatibility

Meta lists the backpack for the Meta Quest 3S, Meta Quest 3, Meta Quest Pro and Meta Quest 2. Syntech's own page names only the Quest 3S, Quest 3 and Quest 2. Meta says the partitions also take accessories such as controllers and mice.

Use

The layout splits VR gear from everything else. The headset rides in its padded upper compartment, the laptop goes in its own section, and the lower section takes clothes or daily items. The handles let you carry it like a handbag, and on longer trips you can strap it to a rolling suitcase to take the weight off your back.

Who it is for

The backpack is aimed at people who travel with both a Quest headset and a laptop, which Meta describes as professionals on the move. It costs more than a headset-only case, and at 1.9 kg empty it is heavy. If you only need to carry the headset and controllers, a smaller case such as Meta's Carrying Case for Meta Quest 3/3S is lighter.
