Yupitergrad is a Quest platformer where you swing through a cel-shaded space station with plunger grappling hooks across a 50-level campaign and time trials.
Yupitergrad is an action platformer from Gamedust in which you play a cosmonaut swinging through a space station with plunger-tipped grappling hooks. It uses cel-shaded graphics and what the developer calls a dieselpunk-in-space look. It came out on the Meta Horizon Store on January 28, 2021.
How it plays
Grappling hooks and boosters are your only way of getting around, and the game mixes VR platforming with puzzles. The developer compares the movement to Indiana Jones-style swinging.
- a single-player campaign of more than 50 levels, with a wacky plot, Slavic humor and dad jokes
- Time Attack mode: 50 arcade levels with leaderboards
- Gymnasion mode, a free space for swinging and practicing stunts, started from the capsule console or the on-hand menu
- an energetic, atmospheric soundtrack
- 120Hz support on Quest 2
Comfort
Meta gives Yupitergrad a moderate comfort rating. Swinging and boosting through open space is a lot of artificial movement, so players sensitive to motion sickness in VR should ease in. You can play sitting, standing or room-scale with controllers.
