Slowp

Slowp is a snow sports and simulation game from Cruel Byte in which you ride a snowboard, skis or a snow skate with full control over your board. It arrived on the Meta Horizon Store on April 18, 2023 and is still in early access.

How it plays

The team behind Slowp says they snowboard in real life and kept adjusting the physics until riding felt right. Your hands act as your feet: you steer and balance the board with your controllers, then carve turns, launch off jumps, grind rails and pull grab tricks. Tracks range from steep slopes and bowls to ramps, loops, narrow and wide trails and ice caves.

Multiplayer

You can ride with friends online. Everyone on a map competes for the fastest time and the best tricks, and you can also race against the best times that other players have set.

Comfort

Meta gives Slowp a moderate comfort rating, so it is comfortable for some people. It supports sitting, standing and room-scale play, using motion controllers. If you are prone to motion sickness in VR, the game offers optional virtual goggles that the developer says are there to remove it.
