House Defender is a mixed reality game that maps your room into an enchanted forest, where you defend your real walls from waves of monsters.
House Defender: Mixed Reality is a mixed reality defense shooter from 2Sync that uses your entire room as the play area, letting you roam it freely. It scans your space when you start and builds the level around your actual walls and furniture, so no two homes play alike. It was released on the Meta Horizon Store on May 3, 2022.
How it plays
Once the scan is done, your room becomes a clearing in a magical forest. A wooden fence follows the line of your real walls and marks what you have to protect. Monsters attack from outside, and you walk around freely, duck behind your furniture for cover and hold out until dawn, when reinforcements arrive. The action includes both PvE and PvP options.
- Automatic room scanning and transformation
- Monsters, power-ups and refreshed scenes
- PvE defense and PvP battles
- Co-located and remote multiplayer
Multiplayer
This is a strongly social game. In co-located play, up to four people defend the same physical room together. Remote play links separate rooms virtually so you can team up in a village square. A PvP mode moves everyone into a fully virtual world, either in the same room or remotely, where you use furniture as cover against each other.
Comfort
The store lists room-scale play only, with controllers. Clear your space of anything you could trip over, since you move around the whole room.
