Hauntify

Hauntify is an action and adventure horror game from VirtualGo LLC that turns your own home into a haunted house. Using mixed reality, evil spirits move through your real rooms and hunt you while you try to survive and drive them out. It arrived on the Meta Horizon Store on February 22, 2022.

How it plays

There are up to 14 spirits, each with its own abilities and hunting style, so encounters change from one session to the next.

• Story Mode, with a series of chapters playable in quick play or legacy mode
• legacy mode, which uses the rooms you scanned and linked in Meta's space setup
• quick play, which maps your space automatically as you play
• a fully virtual mode set in a house full of curses, for when you cannot use your own home

For legacy mode, scan every room with Meta's scene setup and connect them. Quest 2 and Quest Pro cannot scan spaces, so they need manual space setup instead. The developer offers setup help through Discord.

Multiplayer

Quick play supports co-location multiplayer for up to four players in the same house on Quest 3, Quest 3S and newer. You can survive the curses together, or take control of the monsters and hunt your friends. The store lists local multiplayer, co-op and PvP.

Comfort

Meta rates Hauntify comfortable for most people, though it is still a horror game. It is a room-scale experience played with controllers, and since you move through your real home, clear trip hazards before you start.
