Moon VR Video Player

Moon VR Video Player, also called Moon Player, is a media and video app from InnoVision Inc. It replaces the headset's basic video player with a set of virtual cinemas and a long list of playback options. It was released on the Meta Horizon Store on March 10, 2022.

What you can do

• Environments: watch in a large-format theater or a home cinema, with extra scenes such as a skyscraper and a space station sold separately.
• Passthrough mode: place a screen over your real furniture using passthrough, with reflections, so you can still eat a snack or check your phone.
• Moon Portal: AI-generated spaces, offered as a paid extra.
• Network sources: play files over SMB, DLNA and WebDAV, or from USB storage.
• MoonLink: stream from your PC or NAS.
• Formats: 2D, 3D, 180 and 360 degree video at resolutions up to 12K.
• Screen controls: change size, curve, distance and lighting.
• Bedtime mode: tilt the screen above you and dim the room.

USB mode works offline, which helps on trips. The app also includes a web theater for online content as a paid extra. With all these connection options it doubles as a productivity tool for managing a home video library.

Comfort

Meta rates the app as comfortable for most people. It supports sitting, standing and room-scale use, with controllers or hand tracking.
