Simulation is a broad genre built around recreating something from real life. In VR, that can mean a lighthearted sandbox where you handle objects in a pretend workplace, or a serious simulator where a cockpit or car interior surrounds you at true scale.

Two broad groups exist:

• Casual sims focus on handling objects and comedy. They tend to be comfortable, need little movement and suit all ages.
• Vehicle sims aim for realism and often support steering wheels, flight sticks or gamepads, usually played seated.

Vehicle sims can be demanding: fast motion on screen while your body sits still can cause discomfort, and PC-based sims may need powerful hardware. Check input support and comfort options before buying.
