Tactical Assault VR is a tactical shooter with an action focus from HammerFire Interactive. You join an elite special forces unit and use real-world close quarters battle (CQB) techniques: stacking up at doors, breaching and clearing threats. It has been on the Meta Horizon Store since June 6, 2022, and is still in early access.
How it plays
Missions take you to locations around the world and can be approached in more than one way, so planning your assault matters. The store page lists:
- Nine asymmetrical missions that do not follow a fixed path.
- Three wave shooter experiences, plus a sandbox mode and a room randomizer.
- Mission types such as bomb defusal, hostage rescue, making enemies surrender and taking out high-value targets.
- Mini-games, a killhouse and a hardcore mode.
- More than 60 detailed weapons.
You can tailor your loadout with vests, helmets, scopes, sights, grips and breaching gear.
Multiplayer
PvE missions can be played solo or in online co-op with up to six players. There is also a competitive online PvP mode.
Comfort
Meta rates Tactical Assault VR as moderate in comfort. It supports standing, room-scale and sitting play with controllers.
