No More Rainbows is a VR platformer for Meta Quest where you play an underworld beast who runs, jumps and climbs with arm motions to reclaim its home.
No More Rainbows is a 3D platformer with action and adventure from Squido Studio. You play The Beast of the Underworld, out to take back its home from a bright fantasy world, in a story that flips the usual good versus evil roles: your goal is to wreck happiness. It launched on the Meta Horizon Store on June 1, 2023.
How it plays
Movement is driven by your arms. You swing them to run, and use them to jump, claw at enemies and climb, which gives the platforming a physical, precise feel.
- A single-player campaign across 5 worlds and more than 30 levels.
- Mini-games and secrets hidden in the levels.
- Boss fights against your nemesis, with the story told through the environments.
- Local and worldwide leaderboards for every level, aimed at speedrunners.
- Cosmetics and accolades, with the developer citing over a million beast combinations.
The developer says it recently added hand tracking, LIV camera support for streamers and creator badges, although the store's input list only shows controllers.
Multiplayer
Online, you can play an official Deathmatch mode or a mode called Chicken Catch, across 17 maps.
Comfort
Meta rates No More Rainbows as moderate in comfort. Arm-swing running and jumping are artificial movement, so take breaks if you feel unwell. It supports standing and room-scale play.
