Discovery 2 is a block-building sandbox from Noowanda that blends creativity, simulation and light strategy. You explore a large world made of blocks and reshape it however you like. It launched in early access on the Meta Horizon Store on December 21, 2024.
How it plays
Build cozy houses, busy villages, sprawling cities or huge monuments, or dig deep underground. Torches and electric circuits let you light up and power your creations, and a day and night cycle changes how they look.
- more than 215 materials to build with
- a mixed reality tabletop mode, where you build on a surface as if playing with bricks
- first-person play for walking around inside your world
- an inking system with 16 colors for customizing blocks
- a world gallery for browsing other players' creations
- a new engine with HDR rendering and realistic materials
The developer stresses simple controls and easy-to-learn mechanics.
Multiplayer
Discovery 2 supports crossplay, so friends and family can build together across VR and non-VR platforms in co-op.
Comfort
Meta gives Discovery 2 a moderate comfort rating. You can play sitting, standing or room-scale, using controllers or hand tracking. The tabletop mode is the calmer way to build if first-person movement bothers you.
