visionOS 27 Brings Siri AI, Curved Windows and a New Environment to Vision Pro

Apple released visionOS 27 for both Vision Pro models on September 14, 2026, as a free update, according to MacRumors. Apple's own release notes list the full set of changes, and the first large follow-up, visionOS 27.2, arrived on October 26.

Siri AI and Apple Intelligence

The main addition is Siri AI, a more conversational Siri that can use personal context, act inside apps, understand what is on screen and draw on world knowledge. On Vision Pro, Siri can be pinned anywhere in your space, and you can start talking to it simply by looking at it. A dedicated Siri app keeps past conversations, synced through iCloud. Visual Intelligence lets you ask about objects in the room, and Write with Siri helps draft or edit text wherever you type.

These features need a Vision Pro with M2 or later, which covers both the original Apple Vision Pro and the M5 model. A new, more expressive Siri voice that runs on-device is limited to the M5 model.

Spatial and system changes

  • Curved windows in Safari, Freeform and Apple TV Multiview
  • Panoramas that can become spatial scenes with depth, or be used as a Personal Environment
  • A new Thórsmörk Environment based on an Icelandic valley, with a day version and a night version with an aurora
  • Spatial Preview, which brings 3D models from supported Mac apps into your space at true scale
  • Wi-Fi that connects up to three times faster after power-on, and a reorganized Control Center
  • High-quality recording of the unfoveated view in 4K for up to three minutes
  • Look to Drive, an accessibility feature that steers a compatible powered wheelchair with the eyes

visionOS 27.2

The October 26 update adds an Excluded Apps setting that limits which apps Siri, Search and suggestions can see, lets you copy part of a Siri answer, and expands Siri AI to French, Japanese, Korean and Spanish. It also adds SynthID labels for AI-generated or AI-edited images in Photos, and lets FaceTime calls include a third-party sign language interpreter or live captioner.

What it means for owners

Every Vision Pro owner gets the update for free through Settings, General, Software Update. Owners of the first model get almost everything; only the new Siri voice is reserved for the M5 headset. Apps for the platform continue to come through the visionOS App Store.
