Overview
XREAL Aura is a pair of optical see-through XR glasses running Android XR. XREAL developed it with Google and Qualcomm under the name Project Aura. After announcing prices on October 7, 2026, XREAL opened orders to everyone on October 28 in the US, Canada, Japan and South Korea, with shipping expected from mid-November. It costs $1,279 with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, or $1,499 with 16 GB and 512 GB. Through December 2026, a limited-time offer cuts these to $1,099 and $1,299.
Display and optics
Each eye has a 1920 × 1200 Sony micro-OLED panel running at up to 120 Hz, viewed through XREAL's prism optics. XREAL gives a 70-degree field of view, 32 pixels per degree and up to 1,050 nits of peak brightness. You look through the lenses at the real room rather than at a camera feed. Electrochromic dimming has five levels, so the lenses can darken for films.
Comfort and design
The glasses weigh 95 g. The Snapdragon Reality Elite chip, storage and a 4,455 mAh battery sit in a 265 g compute puck on a cable, and an XREAL X1S coprocessor handles spatial tasks. Frames come in two sizes, M for eye distances of 60 to 66 mm and L for 66 to 72 mm. Prescription lenses are available, and the speakers are tuned by Bose. XREAL has not published a battery-life figure.
Tracking and controllers
Two tracking cameras on the frame provide six-degrees-of-freedom tracking, so apps stay anchored in the room, and they follow your hands for gesture control. A high-resolution color camera with a privacy light sits alongside them. No controllers are needed. The puck doubles as a trackpad, and Bluetooth keyboards and game controllers work too, including a new XREAL controller made with GameSir.
Software and apps
Aura opens Google Play apps in floating windows, and Gemini can answer questions about what you see. XREAL counts more than 150 made-for-XR experiences at launch, including Owlchemy Labs' Hyper Visor. Wired Mirroring turns a laptop or handheld console plugged in over USB-C into a large private screen.
Who it is for
Aura suits people who want big virtual screens, Android apps and a Gemini assistant in glasses they can wear on a plane or in a café while still seeing the room. It is not built for fully immersive VR games. Buyers who want those should look at a headset such as the Samsung Galaxy XR.
