Viveport
HTC's VR app store, offering PC VR games for VIVE and other SteamVR-compatible headsets plus apps for VIVE standalone headsets such as the VIVE Focus Vision.
What it is
Viveport is the VR content store from HTC. HTC launched it in 2016 alongside the original HTC Vive. It sells PC VR games and apps, as well as apps for HTC's standalone VIVE headsets. Its catalog covers games, education, creative tools and video, and HTC also uses it to deliver business software to enterprise customers.
Headsets that use it
On standalone hardware, Viveport is the built-in store of the HTC VIVE Focus Vision and other VIVE standalone headsets. On PC, its desktop app works with VIVE PC headsets and with other headsets that run through SteamVR.
Buying and installing
On a standalone headset, you browse, buy and install from the store app on the device. For PC VR, you use the Viveport desktop app or website with a VIVE account, and games install to the PC. Purchases stay tied to your account and are separate from Steam.
Notable traits
Viveport's PC VR catalog is smaller than SteamVR's, and many VIVE owners use both stores. Focus Vision owners often get most of their games through PC streaming to SteamVR, and use Viveport for standalone apps.
