bởi EXEAIO Studio

A demo of an open-world VR motorbike racing game with police chases, AI traffic, pop-up street races and a cross-play multiplayer mode.

Skid is a racing game about motorbikes from EXEAIO Studio, which calls itself an indie studio with AAA dreams. Its summary names Road Rash as an influence, while the description cites the police chases of the Need for Speed series. This demo build was first listed on SideQuest in September 2022.

How it plays

You ride through a cluster of semi-open maps, each described as about 5 km square, with a look inspired by cyberpunk. An AI traffic system fills the roads while you roam freely, and races can pop up in the world as you ride, sometimes ending in a showdown with the police.

  • Bike racing with police chases
  • Semi-open maps with free roaming and AI traffic
  • Pop-up races out in the world
  • Quest and PC VR versions with nearly identical maps and features

Multiplayer

The developer describes a multiplayer mode in which riders compete in seasonal championships for trophies. The standalone Quest version and the PC VR version support cross-play with each other.

Comfort

SideQuest lists Skid as a seated experience. High-speed riding can be demanding in VR, so read our notes on motion sickness in VR if you are new to racing games.

How to get it and what to know

  • Price: free demo.
  • Installed from SideQuest; see our guide to sideloading on Meta Quest.
  • Supported headsets: Meta Quest headsets such as the Quest 3 and Quest 3S, plus Varjo headsets.
  • No other stores are listed; at the time of listing, the developer said store pages on Steam, Quest and Viveport would open for wishlisting.
  • This is a demo build ahead of a full release, and both versions are still in development.
