Contractors Showdown: ExfilZone is an extraction-based shooter with action and survival simulation systems from Caveman Game Studio. You enter a raid with your own loadout, work through objectives, and only keep what you manage to carry out. It was released on the Meta Horizon Store on April 25, 2024.

How it plays

Progression is tied to missions handed out by vendors. Jobs range from elimination contracts and scouting runs to planting trackers and gathering resources. Finishing them earns loyalty with each vendor, and higher loyalty unlocks new weapons, equipment and upgrades. A newer PvE mode gives players a gentler way into ExfilZone, with a challenge level that scales.

• Gunsmith system: more than 50 weapons and thousands of possible builds, with attachments, swappable components and custom color schemes.
• Survival systems: limb damage, bleeding and medical supplies you have to scavenge, plus food and water that keep your stamina up.
• Five maps: Suburbs, Metro, Dam, Resort and Smuggler's Tunnel, from open streets to cramped tunnels.

Multiplayer

The store lists multiplayer, co-op, PvP and PvE play as well as single-player. You can raid with a squad, run into hostile players in a match, or stick to the PvE mode against AI enemies. The developer points players to its Discord server to share gun builds and find squadmates.

Comfort

Meta gives it a moderate comfort rating, so players prone to motion sickness in VR may want to ease in with shorter raids. It supports sitting, standing and room-scale play with controllers.
