VR Zombie Escape A is an online first-person shooter from Holo, published by Holoren. It is built around player-versus-player zombie action, which the developer describes as an improved version of the infection mode that was popular in the original CS. It arrived on the Meta Horizon Store on June 27, 2024, and is still in early access.

How it plays

Every player in a match is either a human or a zombie, and rounds run on a timer. Humans try to wipe out the zombies or simply stay alive, while the zombies throw everything at the humans to infect them all. There are two modes:

• Biochemical infection: humans use guns to kill the zombies or keep away from them for as long as possible; zombies hunt humans down to turn them.
• Zombie escape: humans hold the zombies back with firearms and must reach an exit point on the map before time runs out; the zombies win if they infect every human.

Multiplayer

No single-player mode is listed. The store shows multiplayer and co-op only, and an internet connection is required, so you need other players online to get a match. Humans effectively team up against the zombie side.

Comfort

Meta rates it as moderate, meaning comfortable for some people. It is room-scale only and uses controllers. Fast movement in a shooter can cause motion sickness in VR, so newer players may want shorter sessions at first.
