Dreadhalls is a survival horror game for Meta Quest where you sneak through a huge dark dungeon with only a faint light and try to find a way out.
Dreadhalls is an adventure survival horror game from White Door Games. You are trapped deep inside an enormous dungeon and have to explore it, stay alive and find the way out. The game first appeared at the 2013 Oculus + Indiecade VR Jam, and it has been on the Meta Horizon Store since October 3, 2019.
How it plays
You have no real weapons. Getting through depends on keeping quiet, holding your nerve and making good use of a dim light. The design borrows from survival horror and roguelike games, so expect tense exploration and hiding rather than fighting.
- A large dungeon to explore and escape.
- Stealth and a weak light source instead of weapons.
- Survival horror pacing with roguelike influences.
The developer warns that it is intense and frightening and not meant for people who scare easily.
Comfort
Meta gives Dreadhalls a moderate comfort rating. You can play sitting, standing and room-scale with controllers. You walk through dark corridors with the thumbstick, so newcomers may want to read about motion sickness in VR first.
