XRWorkout is a free Quest fitness app with full-body functional workouts, hand tracking, optional weights, heart-rate biofeedback and online multiplayer.
XRWorkout Free to Play VR Fitness Sport is a free fitness and health app with social features from XRWorkout Inc. It trains functional, full-body movement such as sprints, squats, jumps, boxing, balance work and lifting, either in full VR or in mixed reality. It launched on the Meta Horizon Store on March 16, 2023.
What you can do
The workouts are designed around hand tracking, so you can move without holding controllers. You set the difficulty to match your fitness level and raise it as you get stronger, from beginner sessions up to hard ones.
- Weights: add weight exercises that build strength and stamina.
- Heart-rate biofeedback: using real-time heart-rate readings, the app can adjust exercise difficulty to keep you in a target intensity zone.
- Foot tracking: balance and stability drills that follow your feet.
- Environments: choose an existing world or build and share your own.
- Challenges: design workout challenges, share them and compete on global leaderboards.
Multiplayer
You can work out with friends in real time, either against each other or as a team, and players from around the world can join. Shared challenges and leaderboards add a competitive side to solo sessions too.
Comfort
Meta gives XRWorkout a moderate comfort rating. It supports standing and room-scale play only, with hand tracking or controllers, so clear some space before you start. If you are new to VR, keep early sessions short and read our guide to motion sickness in VR.
