Riff XR is a free online action and adventure game with shooter elements from Revog Games, published by Ron Revog Inc. The developer describes it as a VR MMORPG set in a large world that keeps evolving. It went live on the Meta Horizon Store on July 15, 2024, and is still in early access.
How it plays
Based on the store text, a session in Riff XR mixes exploration, fighting and social play:
- Team up with other players in alliances.
- Fight tough enemies and look for hidden loot.
- Talk to NPCs driven by AI that react to your decisions and hand out their own quests.
- Build your own content and share it with other players.
The store tags it as fighting, shooter and action. The description is short and general, so it says little about classes, weapons, progression or how big the world is today. Since it is in early access, expect features to be incomplete.
Multiplayer
The store lists Riff XR as multiplayer only, with no single-user mode, so you will be sharing its world with other players whenever you log in.
Comfort
Meta gives it a moderate comfort rating, so if you are prone to motion sickness, start with shorter sessions. The store lists support for playing standing or at room scale. You play with controllers.
