Color-A-Cube

Color-A-Cube is a color-by-number puzzle game from AlterEyes. You pick a model made of voxels and paint it one block at a time with a virtual brush, matching numbers to colors until the picture is done. It was released on the Meta Horizon Store on December 5, 2024.

How it plays

The appeal is calm, tactile feedback: every cube gives a click, a pop or a little sparkle as you fill it in. There is no time pressure, so you can color for a couple of minutes or settle in for a long session. The developer admits it can be hard to stop once you start.

• More than 100 voxel models to start with, covering landmarks, food, vehicles, fantasy creatures, cozy scenes and seasonal pieces.
• A new free model added every week, including seasonal ones and crossovers with other games.
• Story models that change as you go, such as a dinosaur's trip from a meteor strike to a museum display.

On top of the base game, the developer lists themed DLC packs released each month, plus an optional Color Pass that unlocks every available DLC pack at once.

Comfort

Meta rates Color-A-Cube as comfortable for most people. It supports seated, standing and room-scale play, so it works well from a chair, and it uses controllers.
