Skybox VR Player

SKYBOX VR Video Player is a paid media player for watching your own videos in VR, made by Source Technology, and part of the Media & Video category. It arrived on Steam on October 24, 2017, and on the Quest store on May 21, 2019, and its store page says VR users have relied on it since 2016.

What it does

SKYBOX plays video files stored on the headset or PC and streams them from other devices on your home network, including DLNA/UPnP media servers and shared folders. It handles common formats such as MP4, MKV, MOV, TS, WEBM and AV1, and it detects the layout automatically, whether a file is flat 2D, 3D side-by-side or over-under, 180-degree or 360-degree. A theater mode puts 2D and 3D films on a large virtual screen, and the developer offers a free Windows client for streaming files and your PC screen to the headset. It is a player for your own files, not a streaming service.

Multiplayer

There is none: SKYBOX is a single-user app with no shared viewing rooms.

Comfort

Meta rates it Comfortable. You watch while seated or standing, and the Quest version works with controllers or hand tracking.
