4XVR Video Player

4XVR Video Player is a free media and video app from 4X Studio for playing movies, 3D films and VR videos from local storage, USB drives, home servers and media libraries. It arrived on the Meta Horizon Store on September 6, 2023.

What you can do

Its headline feature is MVC 3D decoding, which lets it play Blu-ray 3D content in stereo from ISO, SSIF, mkv, m2ts, ts and mts files. Other features listed by the developer:

• Formats: DVD ISO, HDR video with its own HDR brightness control, several Dolby Vision profiles, 8-bit 1080p spatial video and MV-HEVC software decoding.
• Auto detection: recognizes flat, 180-degree and 360-degree video and stereo layouts such as full and half side-by-side and over-under.
• USB drives: reads FAT32, exFAT and NTFS, including drives of 4TB and larger.
• Network playback: DLNA, SMB, FTP and SFTP, WebDAV and WebDAVS, and services such as Plex, Emby, Jellyfin, Dropbox, Baidu Netdisk and 115.
• 4X Link: reach videos on a home PC or NAS locally or remotely; it can run in Docker on a NAS or router, so you can watch from work or on a trip.
• Audio: 5.1 and 7.1 surround and ambisonic audio.
• Viewing: passthrough video and virtual theaters to watch in.

Updates are announced on the developer's Discord server.
