Human Anatomy VR for Institutions

Human Anatomy VR for Institutions is a learning and education app for studying the human body, made by Virtual Medicine and published by Virtual Medicine s.r.o. The download is free, but the features only unlock with an active subscription, offered at Personal, Professional and Institution levels. A 7-day free trial gives full access before you commit. The developer says universities, healthcare organizations and professionals in more than 180 countries use the tool. It has been on the Meta Horizon Store since June 6, 2022.

What you can do

The core is a detailed 3D atlas you can walk around, take apart and inspect from any angle. The store page lists these main features:

• An anatomy library with 15 body systems and more than 13,000 structures.
• Bone mapping that marks around 5,000 bony features.
• 21 microanatomy models, each with explanations.
• A DICOM module that converts CT and MRI scans into 3D models.
• 3D cadaver images produced together with Stanford University.
• Ant-Mode, which shrinks you by up to 40 times so you can look at the body from the inside.
• Built-in quizzes to test what you have learned.

Multiplayer

Teachers and trainers can host multi-user sessions with up to 100 participants, and those sessions are cross-platform. This is the main reason the institutional version exists: a whole class can look at the same model together.

Comfort

Meta rates the app as comfortable for most people. It supports sitting, standing and room-scale use, and works with controllers or hand tracking.
