IMMERSE - Language Fluency is a learning and productivity app from Immerse, published by Immerse Inc., for practicing a foreign language by actually speaking it. Rather than drilling vocabulary, it puts you in conversations with AI characters, live teachers and other learners. It has been on the Meta Horizon Store since June 23, 2022.
What you can do
You talk with AI avatars that reply naturally and patiently, join live classes that focus on situations you will meet in real life, and practice with learners from around the world in shared spaces. The approach is learning by doing: the scenes are meant to prepare you for interruptions, quick thinking and surprises in a real conversation.
What you get depends on the plan:
- Essential: AI-led lessons that adjust as you improve, practice for everyday and stressful moments, progress tracking and access to community spaces.
- Pro: everything in Essential, plus unlimited live classes with instructors, personal feedback, more realistic locations and practice for high-pressure situations such as presentations and meetings.
Multiplayer
The store lists IMMERSE as multiplayer only, with no single-user mode. Live classes and community spaces put you together with instructors and other learners, so expect to talk with real people as well as AI avatars.
Comfort
Meta rates it as comfortable for most people. It supports sitting and standing play and uses controllers, with no hand tracking listed. Sessions are mostly conversation, so sitting down works fine.
