ENGAGE

ENGAGE is a free social and productivity platform from ENGAGE XR Ltd. It is aimed at businesses and educational institutions rather than home players, and offers VR, mixed reality and metaverse tools for working, learning and training together. It has been on the Meta Horizon Store since November 12, 2020.

What you can do

ENGAGE is a space where organizations hold shared sessions in VR. The developer says it uses generative AI and digital twin technology, and lists these main uses:

• Virtual events.
• Educational courses for students.
• Training simulations and corporate training.
• Remote collaboration between colleagues.
• Custom immersive experiences built for a specific client.

The company states that it serves over 200 clients worldwide, holds ISO 27001 certification and complies with GDPR, which matters to schools and employers that handle personal data. The store page does not explain what a single user can do without an organization behind them, so most people will arrive through an invitation from a school, employer or event organizer.

Multiplayer

ENGAGE is listed as multiplayer only. Everything it describes, from events and classes to training and meetings, is built around groups of people meeting in the same virtual space.

Comfort

Meta rates ENGAGE as comfortable for most people. It supports sitting, standing and room-scale use with Touch controllers.
