MarineVerse Sailing Club is a VR sailing game where you learn real sailing skills, race other sailors online and cruise in eight locations.
MarineVerse Sailing Club is a sailing sports simulation with an educational side, made by MarineVerse. You can take sailing lessons, race online or simply enjoy a sunset on the water. It came to the Meta Horizon Store on February 24, 2022.
How it plays
- Boats: five to master, the Dinghy, Yacht, Cat, Waszp and Opti. You start in a dinghy and work your way up to a yacht.
- Locations: Sydney, Rio, Enoshima, Cape Town, San Francisco, Seattle, New York and the Akalana Islands.
- Lessons: courses created with NauticEd teach sail trim, boat speed and navigation on different points of sail, and prepare you for racing.
- Racing: daily race practice with weekly and monthly leaderboards.
- Downtime: mini games and free sailing.
The developer describes itself as a small indie team in Australia that wants to inspire, train and connect sailors, and it runs a community on Discord as well as in VR.
Multiplayer
Online multiplayer covers solo and co-op racing. You can set up private races with a friend or join other sailors. Pro Racing and some advanced features require the optional Sailing Pass club membership.
Comfort
Meta gives it a moderate comfort rating, so it suits some players more than others. It supports seated, standing and room-scale play and is played with Touch controllers or hand tracking.
