Rec Room

Rec Room is a social game and creation platform from Rec Room Inc, mixing sandbox creativity tools with light simulation touches like your own avatar and room. You hang out with people from around the world, play games other users have made and build your own. It has been on the Meta Horizon Store since May 21, 2019.

What you can do

Creation is the main hook. You can build games and design hangout spaces with friends using simple in-game tools, and because building happens in real time, several people can work on the same project together. When a creation is ready, you publish it and it goes live for players on every supported device, from VR headsets to phones.

Rec Room is built around other people. It has full voice chat and cross-play, so you can create and play with friends on different devices. The store lists multiplayer, co-op and single-user modes, and an internet connection is required.

Meta rates Rec Room as comfortable for most people. It supports sitting, standing and room-scale play with controllers.
