Web Summit is one of the biggest general technology conferences in the world. It brings together startups, investors, large tech companies, media and policymakers. The 2026 Lisbon edition runs from November 9 to 12, 2026, and the official site lists the venue as the MEO Arena (formerly Altice Arena) in Lisbon.
Web Summit is not an XR event, and its 2026 programme has no dedicated VR or AR track. The official site lists 17 content tracks across the four days, led by AI, robotics, venture, marketing, media and policy. XR-related topics show up only in a few places on the official pages:
- The Commerce Summit track describes buying journeys "driven by spatial computing and autonomous AI stylists"
- The Creative Summit track covers immersive storytelling and emerging technologies in design
- The New Media Summit track includes a theme on gaming, fandom and immersive media, and has a session on how gaming and immersive technology have reshaped culture
For VR and AR professionals, Web Summit is more useful for meeting investors, platform companies and startups than for hands-on headset demos. The official site does not list any XR-specific exhibits, so the full schedule and exhibitor list are worth checking before you go.
