DeoVR is an app for watching immersive video, part of the media and video category, from DeoVR. It plays 180° and 360° videos inside the headset and connects you to videos published by creators around the world. DeoVR is distributed through SideQuest, where it was first listed in September 2020.
What you can do
Playback is the core of the app: choose a video and it starts in the headset with a single click. The listing highlights several features built on top of that:
- Passthrough viewing: a passthrough mode places the video inside your real room. The developer presents this as an early step toward AR-style video in a VR headset.
- Haptics: DeoVR supports haptic devices, so compatible hardware can add touch feedback that follows what happens on screen.
- Community and uploads: browse a library of creator videos or upload your own, shot on cameras such as the Insta360 X4 or Canon R5C or on professional rigs. You decide whether each upload is shared publicly or kept private.
- Premium: a DeoVR Premium tier exists, and the developer says it helps support the creators whose videos you watch.
The description also mentions work in progress on fully 6DoF volumetric video and on Build Your Own Journey, a feature for branching, interactive video stories. Neither is presented as finished in the listing.
Comfort
SideQuest marks DeoVR as a seated app, so you can watch from a chair or sofa.
