Bạn cần gì

  • Clean, dry optical microfiber cloth
  • Optional: soft air blower

VR lenses are soft plastic or coated optics that scratch far more easily than glasses. A scratch is permanent and sits right in front of your eye, so careful cleaning matters. The advice below is based on the official care instructions from Meta, Sony's PS VR2 manual and Apple.

What you need

  • A clean, dry optical microfiber cloth, the kind sold for glasses or camera lenses. Keep one just for your headset.
  • Optionally, a soft air blower to remove dust before wiping.

What not to use

  • No alcohol, solvents or chemical cleaners. Meta, Sony and Apple all warn against them.
  • No paper towels, tissues or rough fabric, which can leave fine scratches.
  • No disinfectant wipes on the lenses, and no spraying liquid directly onto the headset.

Step-by-step: cleaning the lenses

  1. Turn the headset off and unplug any cables.
  2. Hold the headset with the lenses facing up so loose dust does not fall back in. Blow away any grit first, so you do not drag it across the lens.
  3. Using a dry microfiber cloth, start at the center of the lens and wipe gently in a circular motion moving outward, as Meta recommends.
  4. Use very light pressure. Let the cloth do the work.
  5. Check the lens against a light. Repeat if smudges remain.

Brand-specific notes

  • Meta Quest: Meta says to use a dry microfiber cloth, not to use water, other liquids, chemical cleansers or alcohol, and not to submerge the device.
  • PlayStation VR2: Sony says to wipe the lenses only with a soft, dry cloth made for lenses. For stubborn dirt, it allows wiping first with a slightly moistened lens cloth, then with a dry one.
  • Apple Vision Pro: Apple says to clean the cover glass and display lenses with a dry microfiber cloth, such as the polishing cloth that comes with the device, and not to use liquids or chemicals. Follow ZEISS's own instructions for Optical Inserts.

Cleaning the facial interface

  1. Remove the facial interface or cushion if your headset allows it.
  2. Wipe off surface debris with a microfiber cloth.
  3. For a deeper clean, follow the maker's instructions. Meta allows hand washing removable Quest facial interfaces with cool water and a mild liquid detergent, without submerging them. Apple allows hand washing the detached Light Seal Cushion with warm water and unscented, dye-free dish soap.
  4. Let parts dry completely before reattaching them.

Protect the lenses from sunlight

VR lenses focus light like a magnifying glass. Meta warns that less than a minute of direct sunlight, even indoors, can permanently damage the lenses and displays. Store your headset in a case or drawer, never leave it near a window, and do not use it outdoors. Sony likewise says not to expose PS VR2 to direct sunlight during use, transport or storage.

Preventing smudges

  • Put the headset on and take it off by holding the body, not by pressing on the lenses.
  • Keep the controllers' straps on your wrists so a controller does not knock the lenses.
  • If you wear glasses, use a spacer or prescription inserts so frames do not rub the lenses. See glasses and prescription lenses in VR.

Câu hỏi & trả lời

Can I use alcohol wipes on VR lenses?

No. Meta, Sony and Apple all say not to use alcohol or chemical cleaners on the lenses. Use a dry microfiber cloth instead.

Can I use a glasses cleaning spray?

Avoid it. Meta and Apple say not to use liquids on the lenses. Sony allows a slightly moistened lens cloth for stubborn dirt on PS VR2, followed by a dry cloth, but never spray liquid onto the headset.

Will sunlight really damage my headset?

Yes. The lenses can focus sunlight onto the displays. Meta says less than a minute of direct sunlight can cause permanent damage, so store the headset out of the sun.

How often should I clean the lenses?

Whenever you notice smudges or dust affecting the image. A quick dry wipe from the center outward after sessions keeps them clear.
