A turn-based tabletop dungeon crawler for up to four players, with miniatures, dice and cards, cross-play, and a mixed reality board.
Demeo is a turn-based strategy game from Swedish studio Resolution Games, inspired by tabletop role-playing and board games. It launched on May 6, 2021, on Quest, Rift and SteamVR, and is now one of the most widely available VR games.
How it plays
A detailed game board sits in front of you, and your hero is a miniature you pick up and move. Each turn you spend action points to move, attack and play cards that give abilities, spells and items, while dice rolls add luck. Enemies take their turns afterward, and your party works together to clear each floor of a dungeon and defeat its boss.
You can lean in, rotate the board and zoom to inspect the action. Heroes come in classic fantasy classes, and the game offers several complete adventures with their own themes and bosses. A fifth-anniversary update in May 2026 added player ranks and new loot.
Multiplayer and cross-play
Demeo can be played solo, controlling several heroes, or in online co-op for up to four players. Cross-play connects headsets and other devices, so friends on Quest, Steam, PlayStation, PICO and more can share a table. On Quest it supports hand tracking and a mixed reality mode that places the board in your real room.
Comfort
There is no artificial movement, and Meta rates it comfortable. It suits seated play and long relaxed sessions.
