Steam Winter Sale 2026

The Steam Winter Sale is Valve's year-end seasonal sale on the Steam store. According to Valve's published Steamworks schedule, as reported by GamingOnLinux and Notebookcheck, the 2026 edition runs from December 17, 2026 to January 4, 2027. That makes it the longest of Steam's seasonal sales and the only one that runs into the new year.

Key points:

• Valve moved its Autumn Sale to October 1 to 8 this year, so the Winter Sale is the next major storewide seasonal sale on Steam.
• Valve's seasonal sales have historically started and ended at 10:00 Pacific time. The published schedule confirms the dates only, so treat the hour as the usual pattern.
• Discounts are set by individual publishers and developers, so which VR games are discounted, and by how much, will only be known when the sale opens.
• Valve has historically run community voting for the annual Steam Awards during the Winter Sale. Dates for the 2026 Steam Awards have not been announced.

The sale is open to anyone with a Steam account through the Steam store website, desktop client or mobile app. PC VR games bought on Steam can be played on SteamVR-compatible headsets.
