Beat Games
Prague-based studio behind Beat Saber, owned by Meta since 2019. It started out as Hyperbolic Magnetism before renaming itself Beat Games.
Beat Games is the studio that makes Beat Saber, one of the best-selling VR games of all time. It began as Hyperbolic Magnetism, the team of Slovak developers Vladimír Hrinčár and Ján Ilavský, who built the early Beat Saber prototypes; composer Jaroslav Beck joined to create the soundtrack.
Beat Saber entered Steam Early Access in 2018 and reached its full release in May 2019. In November 2019 Facebook (now Meta) acquired the studio, which continues to operate in Prague under the Oculus Studios umbrella.
The studio keeps releasing paid music packs and free updates for Beat Saber on Meta Quest and SteamVR. In June 2025 it stopped adding new content to the PlayStation VR versions.
