SketchAR is a free Meta Quest app that projects your images onto real walls in mixed reality so you can trace murals and drawings at any size.

SketchAR: MuralArt Drawing Projector is a free learning and productivity tool for artists from Sketchar Inc. It uses mixed reality, which the developer calls augmented reality, to place your sketches on real surfaces so you can trace them by hand. It has been on the Meta Horizon Store since May 2, 2025.
What you can do
- Bring in your own images: send sketches to the headset from your phone, a computer or Google Drive.
- Any size: project artwork onto a wall or even a whole building.
- Quick setup: position, rotate and place the image with hand gestures.
- Mobile sync: draw in the Sketchar app on iOS or Android phones and tablets, and the sketch shows up on the headset right away.
- Lessons: more than 1,000 guided drawing lessons and templates, with subjects like portraits, anime, animals and architecture.
The headset app is mainly a projector, while much of the drawing and the lesson library sit in the companion mobile app. The developer invites feedback and collaboration ideas by email.
Comfort
Meta rates SketchAR as comfortable for most people. It supports seated, standing and room-scale play, and you can use Touch controllers or hand tracking. Since you are working on real walls while wearing the headset, keep the area clear and watch your footing.
