SWARM 2

SWARM 2 is a roguelike shooter from Greensky Games and the sequel to SWARM. You play as Marv, the last grapple commando still alive, and use a pistol and a grappling hook to push the Swarm back and save Earth. It came to the Meta Horizon Store on March 7, 2024.

How it plays

Movement is the heart of the game. The grapple turns you into a swinging pendulum, and you build speed by dipping close to the ground and timing each swing well. Missions drop you into neon-lit ruins on the surface, and each run plays out differently as enemy tactics change to match how strong you have become, which keeps the fast action from feeling repetitive.

Between missions, Shard Tech upgrades, with help from a character called Auggie, improve your skills for good. You pick from dozens of perks to build a set that suits you, and the story unfolds a bit more with each trip to the surface.

• Pistol and grappling hook combat.
• Roguelike missions with permanent upgrades.
• Dozens of perks to combine.
• Global leaderboards.

Comfort

Meta gives SWARM 2 a moderate comfort rating. You can play sitting, standing and room-scale with controllers. Fast grapple swings move your view a lot, so newer players may want to read about motion sickness in VR first.
