Space Salvage

Space Salvage is a sci-fi adventure and simulation game from Fruity Systems. You join the Space Salvage Corporation as a trainee and pilot a small pod through space in search of junk to collect. It came to the Meta Horizon Store on November 2, 2023.

How it plays

The game sets a laid-back tone from the start: you sit back and fly through bright, colorful nebulae while an 80s-inspired soundtrack plays. As a trainee you are expected to steer your pod through many pockets of space, and some of them are more dangerous than others.

• 30 environments to fly through.
• 3 different story paths.
• A range of challenges.
• Credits earned on the job buy upgrades and ship customization.

You decide what kind of pilot to be. You can stay a calm drifter among the stars, become a combat pilot that rivals fear, or land somewhere in between. Missions can be as short as ten minutes, or you can settle in for hours and follow the story. The developer also warns, with a wink, that slacking on the job has consequences.

Comfort

Meta rates Space Salvage as moderate in comfort. Flying a ship involves artificial movement, so check our guide to motion sickness in VR if you are sensitive. The game supports sitting and standing play with controllers.
