PlayStation VR2 owners have a date for Zero Caliber 2. Developer XREAL Games confirmed in a video on October 20, 2026 that the military shooter launches on PS VR2 on November 5. The studio had earlier aimed for October, so the release slips by just under a week. XREAL Games is a separate studio from XREAL, the maker of AR glasses.
Built for PS VR2
The PS VR2 version runs at a native 90 frames per second, rather than rendering at 60 fps and reprojecting to 120 as many PS VR2 ports do, UploadVR reports. In September the studio promised it "will support all the major PS VR2 features right from launch", including headset haptics and adaptive triggers on the Sense controllers. bHaptics vests and accessories are supported at launch too.
What's in the game
- A campaign you can play solo or in co-op
- PvP and online multiplayer for up to eight players (PS Plus required online)
- Seated, standing and room-scale play
Co-op is limited to players on the same platform, so PS VR2 players will not be matched with Quest or Steam players. The game is already out on Quest and as Zero Caliber 2 Remastered on Steam, where it holds a Mostly Positive rating. UploadVR gave the Quest version four out of five stars.
What it means for players
The first Zero Caliber reached PS VR2 in December 2025 and holds a 4.1-star rating there, so the sequel arrives with an audience waiting. A native 90 fps target should make it one of the sharper-looking shooters on the headset. PS VR2 pricing has not been announced; the game can be wishlisted now on the PlayStation Store.
