Bootstrap Island Adds Cargo Master Mode With 19 Tasks and Global Leaderboards

Bootstrap Island Adds Cargo Master Mode With 19 Tasks and Global Leaderboards describes MaruVR’s new PC VR update for Bootstrap Island. Added through Steam on November 5, 2026, Cargo Master gives players 19 cargo-delivery tasks, special rewards and timed global leaderboard rankings.

Bootstrap Island is a first-person VR survival game set on a tropical island. Players face wildlife, environmental dangers and other threats while finding and using resources around them. Cargo Master keeps those survival demands in place while adding a structured delivery challenge.

How Cargo Master changes survival

Cargo Master asks shipwrecked players to gather supplies and deliver them around the island. Requests become increasingly difficult as players progress. Completing them requires resource management, resource gathering and decisions about how to handle each delivery while staying alive.

The mode is competitive through recorded completion times, not through a simultaneous multiplayer race. After all 19 tasks are completed, the game records a time on global leaderboards. Faster runs receive higher placements, letting players compare their results with others.

MaruVR says the challenges and dangers increase through the mode. Cargo Master therefore does not remove the usual pressure of finding resources and surviving the island. Players must balance delivery goals against existing survival and resource-management mechanics.

Special equipment and final reward

The mode includes mystical equipment that is not found in the main game. Listed rewards include Boots of Jumping, an Infinite Flintlock Pistol and an Infinite Bow. These items give returning players rewards specific to Cargo Master.

  • Boots of Jumping: greatly increase jumping ability, remove fall damage and allow large sliding leaps across the island.
  • Infinite Flintlock Pistol: needs no bullets or gunpowder, but still must be cocked after every shot.
  • Infinite Bow: provides an unlimited supply of arrows.

Completing all 19 tasks unlocks the Golden Seashell as the final reward. The special equipment does not turn the full experience into a relaxed island trip; players still need to find resources, manage supplies and deal with threats during deliveries.

PC VR launch and PlayStation VR2 plans

Cargo Master is an update to the existing PC game, not a standalone purchase. It is available for the Steam version on PC VR from November 5, 2026. Bootstrap Island is also available on PlayStation VR2, but Cargo Master did not launch there on the same announced date.

PlayStation VR2 support is due to follow, although MaruVR has not provided a release date for the console version. Players on that platform should wait for the console update rather than assume the mode arrived there with the Steam release.

MaruVR also lists a separate paid cosmetic DLC bundle. The available information says this bundle is not required to understand Cargo Master. It does not say whether Cargo Master itself is free, provide PC or headset requirements, list every task objective or reward, explain how existing save data works, or confirm whether Steam and PlayStation VR2 leaderboard results will be combined.

MaruVR’s PC announcement is the best place to check patch notes and changes beyond the headline mode. It does not provide a PlayStation VR2 release date.
