Supernatural VR Relaunch Brings Quest Fitness App Back

Supernatural VR, the subscription fitness app Meta bought and later left in maintenance mode, returned to active development on October 21, 2026. Its new early-access version is available through the Meta Horizon Store and is run by Supernatural Health, an independent studio of about 15 people led by CEO James Senior. Meta announced the spin-out in June, as Road to VR recounts.

What the Quest relaunch includes

The separate app contains thousands of workouts, including remastered favorites and new sessions, plus hundreds of music tracks. It also adds Laguna Torre, a new home environment, and household memberships with separate profiles for up to four people on one headset.

UploadVR reports that gameplay is largely unchanged from the previous app, with a slightly updated and more colorful interface. The studio plans to add new workouts weekly, alongside more music and environments on a rolling basis. The Verge VR reports that new workouts begin arriving weekly starting the following week.

The app includes plans for a mobile companion that tracks progress and a social mode called Supernatural Together. These features are not available in Early Access. The Verge VR reports that Supernatural Together is being rebuilt from the ground up.

Price, trials and supported headsets

The app is free to download, but access requires a subscription costing $20 per month or $200 per year. The monthly plan has a 7-day free trial, while the annual plan has a 14-day trial. The service is available only in the US and Canada.

Supernatural runs on Quest 2 and newer headsets, including Quest 3, Quest 3S and Quest Pro.

Update (2026-10-31): VR.org News reports that Founding Members can receive a first-year subscription price of $180 if they subscribe by December 31. The outlet also reports that Supernatural plans a full release in early 2027. The new app launches with six returning coaches, one new home environment called Laguna Torre, and household memberships supporting separate profiles for up to four people.

VR.org News reports that Supernatural Together, heart-rate tracking and the mobile companion app are not available in Early Access. Eligible annual subscribers may receive prorated refunds when Meta subscriptions end on December 3.

Moving from the old service

This is a separate app, not an update to the original Meta-run edition. The old service winds down on December 3, and its subscriptions end that day. It is also no longer listed in Quest store search. Existing members must transfer their information before the deadline if they want to retain their account history.

VR.org News reports that users must manually download a .zip file from the old service and upload it to transfer their history before 11:59 PM Pacific on December 3. Points and start date appear immediately after transfer. Streaks, favorites, badges and workout history appear over the following weeks.

Until the old service closes, members can carry over points, start date, streaks, favorites and badges. The transfer deadline makes December 3 important for anyone who wants to preserve records from the Meta-run app.

Future platform plans

Meta still backs Supernatural in another way. At Connect 2026, it named Supernatural as a day-one title for Meta VR Glasses, due in spring 2027. For Quest users, the relaunch restores an actively developed fitness option while the independent studio expands its workouts, music, environments and planned social features.
