A Star Wars action-adventure set on Batuu: play a stranded droid technician, blast through gangs and pirates, and live out side stories with Yoda, IG-88 and more.
Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy's Edge is an action-adventure shooter developed by ILM Immersive (then ILMxLAB) and published by Disney, whose games division is now Disney Games Group. It was released on November 19, 2020, for Quest. The Last Call expansion followed on September 15, 2021, and the Enhanced Edition, which includes both parts, came to PlayStation VR2 as a launch title on February 22, 2023.
Story
You play a droid repair technician whose ship is attacked by the Guavian Death Gang and crashes on Batuu, near Black Spire Outpost, the setting of the Galaxy's Edge areas at Disneyland and Walt Disney World. Seezelslak, a talkative bartender voiced by Bobby Moynihan, hands out missions and tells tales from other eras. C-3PO and R2-D2 appear, and Frank Oz voices Yoda.
How it plays
The main campaign mixes blaster combat and exploration in the Batuu wilds, ending with a raid on a First Order facility. The cantina acts as a hub for the Tales: short missions where you become a Jedi in the Temple of Darkness, train with a padawan in The Sacred Garden, or play as the assassin droid IG-88. Last Call adds new missions from the treasure dealer Dok-Ondar that explore darker corners of Black Spire Outpost. The PS VR2 version adds eye tracking with foveated rendering, headset feedback, adaptive triggers and controller haptics.
Comfort
Meta lists the game as comfortable. It supports seated, standing and room-scale play.
