A single-player action horror game set in the Alien universe: as ex-Colonial Marine Zula Hendricks, you hunt and flee Xenomorphs on the planet Purdan.
Alien: Rogue Incursion is a single-player action horror shooter from Survios, made with 20th Century Games. It launched on December 19, 2024, on PlayStation VR2 and SteamVR, and reached Meta Quest on February 13, 2025. The VR release is Part One of a two-part story.
Story
You play Zula Hendricks, a former Colonial Marine turned Xenomorph hunter, who answers an SOS from Purdan, a backwater planet with a long-abandoned mining colony. Her search for a missing squadmate leads into a facility overrun by Xenomorphs. The story is original and not tied to a film.
How it plays
Most actions are physical: you open doors, peer around corners, holster and reload weapons by hand, switch on lights and check a motion tracker for movement. Xenomorphs hunt you through the levels, slip through ducts and tunnels and climb over objects, and making too much noise draws more of them. The game balances exploration of the colony with combat against the creatures. The main story takes around seven hours.
Comfort
Meta rates the game as moderate. Movement is smooth, with snap turning and adjustable vignettes to reduce motion sickness. It can be played seated, standing or in room scale. Dark corridors, gore and creatures that attack from vents may be too much for players who dislike horror.
