必要なもの
- A Meta Quest 3, 3S, 2 or Pro that you are the device owner of
- A Meta account and Meta Horizon profile for each extra person
- The Meta Horizon app on your phone (to add or remove profiles from the app)
- At least one additional profile on the headset before you turn on App Sharing
A Meta Quest can hold more than one person's profile, so family members or housemates keep their own saves, chats and settings on one headset. The device owner can also share eligible games they bought. This guide covers adding and switching profiles, App Sharing, passcodes and removing a profile. These steps follow Meta's articles on adding additional Meta Horizon profiles, turning on App Sharing, managing your passcode and removing a profile. They apply to Meta Quest 3, 3S, 2 and Pro. If the headset is brand new, finish first-time setup before you add anyone.
1. Know who the owner is and how many profiles fit
The first person to log in after setup or a factory reset becomes the device owner. Only the owner's purchases can be shared, and only the owner can remove other profiles. Meta says you can add 3 additional profiles, so a headset holds up to four profiles in total.
Each extra person needs their own Meta account and Meta Horizon profile before you add them. If they don't have one yet, they should create it first on their phone or computer.
2. Add a profile from the headset
- Press the Meta button (or Oculus button) on the right controller to open the universal menu.
- Select the clock on the left side of the menu to open Quick Settings.
- Select Settings in the top right, then select Profiles.
- Enter the email address of the person you want to add, then select Send Link.
The link expires 15 minutes after it is sent, so make sure the other person is ready to open it.
3. Or add a profile from the Meta Horizon app
- Open the Meta Horizon app on your phone and tap Menu.
- Tap Devices, then tap your headset.
- Under Info, tap Manage profiles, then Add profile.
- Copy the link or use Share to send it through a messaging app.
The same 15-minute expiry applies.
4. Switch between profiles
Once a headset has more than one profile, it shows a profile switcher when it starts up. Put on the headset and pick your profile. To change profile while the headset is already on, select your profile in the universal menu, then select Switch profile.
Each profile keeps its own app progress, media files, avatar, groups, leaderboards and achievements. Profiles can't see each other's saved passwords, Messaging, Parties, Horizon Worlds activity, payment information, in-game progress, high scores or in-app settings.
5. Turn on App Sharing
App Sharing lets additional profiles play eligible games and apps that the owner bought, without buying them again. Add at least one profile first, then sign in as the owner:
- Press the Meta or Oculus button on the right controller.
- Hover over the clock on the left side of the universal menu and select Quick Settings.
- Select Settings in the top right, then Profiles.
- Turn on the toggle next to App Sharing.
If your headset came with a game or app as part of a promotion or bundle, App Sharing is also how you share that redeemed content with the other profiles.
6. Know the App Sharing limits
- One headset at a time. The owner can share apps on only one device. To move sharing, turn App Sharing off on the current headset, then turn it on on the new one.
- Shared apps stay on that headset. If an app was shared with you on one headset, you can't use it after you switch to a different headset. Apps you bought yourself still work anywhere.
- Not every app is eligible. Meta says not all games and apps support App Sharing.
- Your own purchases aren't shared back. Meta's App Sharing announcement says additional profiles can buy their own apps on a shared headset, but those apps aren't shared with the owner or other profiles.
To play one copy of a game together on two headsets in the same room, Meta's colocation article says the person who owns the game must be the primary profile on both headsets. Add the second player as an additional profile on one headset, turn on App Sharing there, then have one person use the owner's profile and the other use the additional profile.
7. Protect each profile with a passcode
Separate profiles only protect your data if each one is locked. Without a passcode, anyone who picks up the headset can open your profile. Older Quest software called this lock an unlock pattern. Meta now uses a passcode of 4-16 digits, and each profile can set its own. Meta's passcode article gives this path on current software:
- Press the Meta button to open the Navigator, then select Quick controls.
- Select Settings, then Passcode.
- Select Create next to Passcode, enter 4-16 digits, select Continue, then enter it again to save.
You can choose what the passcode protects: Unlock headset, Use saved passwords and Locked apps. Your profile locks when the headset sleeps or powers on. On the lock screen, other people select Back in the top left and choose their own profile. The passcode is separate from your Store PIN for purchases. If you forget your passcode, you'll need to factory reset the headset, which wipes every profile on it.
8. Let someone try it quickly
Meta's Help Center does not describe a Guest Mode for Quest headsets. A person can only use the headset through a profile, either theirs or yours. For a one-off demo you have two options. You can hand over your own profile after turning on Locked apps for anything private. Or you can add them as a profile, which Meta recommends for safe hand-offs because it keeps your passwords, payment information and chats separate.
For people watching in the room, cast the headset view to a phone, TV or computer. If the new player is unsure of the space, check the boundary before handing it over.
9. Remove a profile or change the owner
The owner removes profiles in the Meta Horizon app:
- Tap Menu in the top left.
- Tap Devices, then tap your headset.
- Tap Manage profiles and select the profile you want to remove.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to finish.
A factory reset also removes every profile, but it wipes the headset back to its out-of-the-box state. A reset is also the only way to change the device owner. After a reset, the first person to log in becomes the new owner.
よくある質問
How many people can use one Meta Quest?
The device owner can add 3 additional Meta Horizon profiles, so a headset holds up to four profiles in total. Each person needs their own Meta account and Meta Horizon profile.
Can two people play the same shared game at the same time?
Yes, on two headsets in the same room, if the owner of the game is the primary profile on both headsets and App Sharing is turned on for the headset where the second player has an additional profile. Not all games and apps support App Sharing.
Can I share my games on more than one Quest?
No. The device owner can only have App Sharing on one headset at a time. To move it, turn App Sharing off on the current headset and on on the new one.
Does Meta Quest have a Guest Mode?
Meta's Help Center does not describe one. Meta's suggested way to hand off a headset safely is to add the other person as an additional profile, and you can use the Locked apps passcode option to protect apps on your own profile.
What if I forget my Quest passcode?
Meta says you'll need to factory reset the headset. That wipes everything on the device, including every profile.
