Shiftall
Tokyo-based maker of lightweight MeganeX PC VR headsets and VR accessories such as the HaritoraX trackers, FlipVR controllers and mutalk microphone.
About Shiftall
Shiftall Inc. is a Japanese hardware company based in Tokyo. It was set up in February 2018 by Takuma Iwasa, founder of the electronics maker Cerevo, and was owned by Panasonic from 2018. In February 2024, Panasonic transferred all its shares to the Japanese company CREEK & RIVER. Shiftall develops its own products and also helps other companies design and mass-produce connected devices.
VR hardware
Shiftall makes hardware for PC VR users, many of them in social VR apps such as VRChat. Its products include the HaritoraX full-body trackers, the FlipVR and GripVR controllers and the mutalk soundproof microphone. Its MeganeX headsets are very small and light, and they use SteamVR base stations for tracking.
The Shiftall MeganeX superlight 8K, developed with the Panasonic Group, went on preorder in October 2024 at $1,899. It has 3552 × 3840 micro-OLED panels per eye and weighs 179 g. In October 2025, Shiftall announced its successor, the MeganeX 8K Mark II, which keeps the same displays and weight and improves durability, connection stability and fit.
