Color Space is a creativity and design app from Lighthaus Inc. that turns the idea of a coloring book into a place you can stand in. Instead of filling in a page, you color the scene around you. It has been on the Meta Horizon Store since March 19, 2020.
What you can do
You hold a palette and a coloring wand and step into one of 32 black-and-white worlds drawn by VR artists. There is no limit on colors, and you work through each scene piece by piece: a tree here, a rock or a flower there.
The world reacts as you go. Water starts to flow, birds take off, planets turn and meteors glow. The audio changes too, with music and sound effects from the studio's composers and sound designers that shift as you add color.
- 32 worlds to color, made by a group of VR artists.
- A palette and wand as your only tools, so there is little to learn.
- Scenes that animate and sound different as you fill them in.
- Suitable for adults and kids, in the spirit of a classic coloring book.
There is no timer or score, so it works as a calm, low-effort way to spend time in VR.
Comfort
Meta rates it as comfortable for most people. It supports sitting, standing and room-scale play and uses controllers, with no hand tracking listed. Since you color at your own pace, it is easy to play seated.
