Lost Recipes is a relaxed VR cooking game for Meta Quest where ghost chefs teach you dishes from ancient Greek, Song Dynasty Chinese and Maya kitchens.
Lost Recipes is a cooking simulation game from Schell Games for families, history fans and anyone who likes to cook. You learn traditional recipes in kitchens from ancient Greece, Song Dynasty China and the Maya civilization, without any time pressure and with no washing up afterwards. It has been on the Meta Horizon Store since January 27, 2022.
How it plays
Each kitchen has a ghost chef from that civilization, voiced by a native speaker, who wants to pass their recipes on. You learn their techniques and move to the next dish once your cooking meets their standards. Meals are rated up to five stars on preparation, presentation and process.
The pace is slow on purpose: taking your time and following each recipe carefully earns better results. The developer says the kitchens draw on cultural and historical research, which makes it a gentle learning title as well as a light adventure through history.
